We strive to maintain high standards in design, materials and fine craftsmanship. Fine jewelry is delicate should be treated with love and worn with care. There are some important things to keep in mind to treasure your jewelry for generations to come. By following these important jewelry care tips, you can help preserve your jewelry for years to come.

GENERAL JEWELRY CARE

  • Store separately and safely. Jewelry should be carefully stored your jewelry in a soft lined box when not being worn. Please use the jewelry box provided and keep your pieces separate from other jewels so they do not scratch each other and cause damage.
  • Wear With Extra Care. Even though fine jewelry is made of metal, all precious metals are delicate. Yes, even our fiercest pieces should be worn with care. Please take care and do not bang, bend or drop your jewelry.
  • Know when to take your jewelry off. Please avoid wearing jewelry while cleaning, gardening, performing sports activities such as hitting the gym, lifting weights, doing yoga, swimming, rock climbing, etc... this will damage your jewelry.
  • Jewelry is not made for sleeping in. Always take off your jewelry before going to bed. Do not lay on or sit on your rings or sleep wearing your earrings as this will warp, bend, and damage the precious metals.
  • Professional Cleaning & Maintenance. We advise taking your fine jewelry to a professional jeweler at least once a year for a thorough cleaning and inspection.

PLATINUM & GOLD JEWELRY CARE
  • Regular professional cleaning. Professional cleaning is recommended at least once a year. In between professional servicing, you can also maintain your gold and platinum jewelry at home by using a gold, platinum, and gemstone safe non-abrasive cleaner as well as the soft polishing cloth provided.
  • Avoid harsh jewelry cleaners. Gold and platinum jewelry can be cleaned at home with warm, mild soapy water and a tightly woven microfiber or a soft chamois cloth or a soft baby's toothbrush. If using steam and ultrasonic cleaners or liquid jewelry cleaners please read the manufacturers product description first to make sure that it is safe to use on the metals and gemstone of your piece - not all jewelry cleaners are safe to use. Never use toothpaste or other abrasive materials to clean your jewelry.
  • Inspect your jewelry. We encourage you to carefully examine your jewelry regularly to make sure the prongs are intact and the clasps are working properly. Weakness in timeworn prongs and clasps can result in the loss of a gemstone or the entire piece of jewelry. Over time the surface of silver, gold and platinum jewelry may become slightly dull, this is due to tiny micro scratches on the surface from normal wear. We recommend very occasionally professionally polishing your jewelry - however, no more than once a year as this removes a thin layer of metal each time.
  • Wear With Extra Care. Gold and platinum are precious metals that will last forever but please keep in mind that precious metal jewelry is delicate and should be worn with care. Gold is a soft metal and can get scratched, dented, bent if treated roughly.
  • Know when to take your jewelry off. Please remove your jewelry while cleaning, gardening, performing sports activities such as hitting the gym, lifting weights, doing yoga, swimming, rock climbing, etc... this will damage your jewelry.
  • Keep away from abrasives. Keep away from all rough and abrasive surfaces such as sand, cement, glass, and other metal objects, etc...
  • Avoid chemicals. Avoid exposing gold and platinum jewelry to household cleaners especially bleach. Bleach will cause discoloration and damage to the metal and gemstones. Chlorine may also damage fine precious metals. Repeated exposure to chlorine can weaken gold's structure, eventually leading to breakage - please keep away from pools and jacuzzis.

STERLING SILVER JEWELRY CARE
    • Tarnish is a natural occurrence. Our sterling silver pieces are usually finished with a white rhodium plating to help reduce tarnishing. However, tarnishing is a natural occurrence that happens to all silver metals as a result of oxidation caused by the exposure of silver with certain elements such as oxygen, sulfur, salt, certain acids, and chlorine. Wearing your silver jewelry may actually help prevent oxidation, so we recommend wearing your silver jewelry every day. Tarnishing can be removed by using a sterling silver safe jewelry cleaner, or by polishing the tarnish off with a silver jewelry polishing cloth.
    • Airtight storage. Keep your silver jewelry stored in a dry airtight ziplock bag or inside an airtight jewelry box to help reduce tarnish.
    • Know when to take your jewelry off. Please avoid wearing jewelry while cleaning, gardening, performing sports activities such as hitting the gym, lifting weights, doing yoga, swimming, rock climbing, etc... this will damage your jewelry.
    • Keep away from abrasive surfaces. Silver looks tough but is actually a soft metal and should be worn with care to prevent damage and scratching. Please avoid abrasive surfaces, liquids, materials and objects, etc...

    PRECIOUS GEMSTONE CARE

    • Wear With Extra Care. Precious gemstones are fragile should be protected from sharp blows or extreme changes in temperature. To avoid scratching and damage, store your precious gemstone jewelry safely and separately in a soft cloth or inside a padded container away from other pieces of jewelry.
    • Avoid Heat. Exposure to high heat is NOT recommended. Strong heat may alter the color and or sudden temperature changes may cause fracturing of the gemstone.
    • Professional Cleaning & Maintenance. We advise taking your fine jewelry to a professional jeweler at least once a year for a thorough cleaning and inspection.
    • Avoid harsh jewelry cleaners. Precious gemstone jewelry can be gently cleaned at home with warm, mild soapy water and a tightly woven microfiber or a soft chamois cloth. Avoid using steam and ultrasonic cleaners. If using liquid jewelry cleaners please read the manufacturer's product description and instruction first to make sure that it is safe to use it on your specific gemstones and metals - not all jewelry cleaners are safe to use on all jewelry. Never use toothpaste, baking soda or any other abrasive materials to clean your jewelry.
    • Avoid chemicals. Avoid exposing gold and platinum jewelry to chemicals such as household cleaners and especially bleach. Bleach will cause discoloration and damage to the metal and gemstones. Chlorine may also damage fine precious metals. Repeated exposure to chlorine can weaken gold's structure, eventually leading to breakage - keep jewelry away from pools and jacuzzis.

    GOLD VERMEIL PLATED JEWELRY

    • What is gold vermeil? Gold vermeil is jewelry is made of a sterling silver base metal that has been chemically electroplated to bind a thin layer of 18-karat or 24-karat gold to the surface of the metal giving the jewelry a beautiful highly reflective gold-tone finish.
    • Electroplating process. Using electroplated chemical bath we bind a thin layer of microscopic ions of gold metal to the surface of the base metal.
    • How long will the plating last? Please note that the gold plating is a surface treatment and may wear off over time revealing the underlying base metal. The lifespan of the plating depends on how the piece is worn and cared for.
    • Wear With Extra Care. Please take care to keep your plated jewelry away from heat, abrasive surfaces, sharp objects that may cause scratching, as well as water and moisture. Always keep plated jewelry dry. Keep away from all liquids such as water, lotions, oils, perfumes, alcohol, acetone, hair products, and chemical cleaners, etc... Exposure to liquids can weaken, damage, and may eventually even remove the plated surface treatment.
    • Is gold vermeil jewelry waterproof? No. The gold plated finish is a fragile surface treatment and is not waterproof like solid gold jewelry. Plated jewelry should always be kept dry. Please do take off your plated jewelry before showering, going to the beach, pool or spa, washing dishes, etc...
    • Will gold vermeil plating tarnish? Plated jewelry may tarnish over time due to oxidation from normal exposure to air and the natural acids and oils on the surface of the skin - unfortunately this is normal wear. Only solid gold jewelry 14-karat gold and higher will not tarnish. You can however, can help prevent premature tarnishing by storing your gold vermeil jewelry in an airtight ziplock bag when not being worn.
    • How do I clean my gold plated jewelry? Simply wipe clean with a soft dry, non-abrasive cloth to clean. Do not steam or use ultrasonic cleaners on plated jewelry. Do not polish your plated jewelry as this will remove the plating.
    • Can the gold plating be removed? Yes, the plating can be removed with a professional mechanical polish.
    • Can I have my jewelry re-plated with gold? Yes. The jewelry could be given a professional mechanical polish to remove the old plating before re-plating.

    RHODIUM PLATING

    • What is rhodium plating? White rhodium is a rare precious metal in the platinum family. When electroplated onto metal jewelry, white rhodium will leave a bright white and reflective finish.
    • What is black rhodium aka "black gold" plating? Black rhodium and black ruthenium is a surface treatment created by chemically binding a black ink to a white rhodium metal solution. Jewelry plated with black rhodium or black ruthenium, will have a uniquely dark and shiny reflective finish. This dark gunmetal color is also known as "black gold". It is important to note that eventually black rhodium plating may wear off and will leave the surface of the metal with unique gunmetal antiqued looking finish.
    • Electroplating process. Using electroplated chemical bath we bind a thin layer of microscopic ions of rhodium metal to the surface of the base metal.
    • Wear With Care. All plated jewelry must be worn with extra care. The plated coating is fragile and is not waterproof nor scratch proof, therefore plated jewelry should be kept dry and worn with extra care to help preserve the integrity of the plated surface. Keep all plated jewelry away from abrasive surfaces and objects that may scratch or chip the plating.

    • How long will plating last? It is important to note that the rhodium plated surface is a surface treatment, it is NOT permanent and will wear off over time revealing the underlying base metal especially on items such as rings. We cannot guarantee the lifespan of the plating, as it depends on how the piece is worn and cared for. Plating will wear off of jewelry worn daily more quickly than a piece that is worn occasionally.

HOW TO AVOID BENDING YOUR RINGS

      • Know when to take them off. The best way to prevent your rings from warping or damage is to take them off when you do any kind of intense work with your hands such as exercising, when carrying heavy objects, and doing any kind of manual labor.
      • Do not bend. Never bend, open or squeeze a ring to resize it ever. This will cause damage to the metal and may eventually cause your ring to crack or break.
      • Jewelry is not made for sleeping in. Always take off your rings before going to sleep. Do not lay on or sit on your rings as this will warp, bend, or damage the precious metal.
